Giving back has become a way of life for me. I have served over 200 hours in the past year and I have learned so much. Although this may sound like I have given a lot I plan to do so much more. The world is full of setbacks and one way to fix that is by finding solutions for problems that are faced. In business there is a growing need for marketing over the internet because there is a decline in the use of magazines and written word. My idea is to come up with a useful marketing plan that can not only be used for large companies trying to make money but also the nonprofits trying to find donations and volunteers. It is not always easy to get volunteers if people are not looking. Service learning gave me the opportunity to explore the DFW area for volunteer opportunities that I found worthy of my time. This was not an easy task and full of trial and error attempts to find the right organization for me. If I find a way to advertise an organization to the right people then that stress is lowered for both the organization and the volunteer. My goal is to make things easier and create a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Spring Term Schedule

Week 1: Create Blog, Write a script about Capstone Project
Week 2: Shoot the 30 second Capstone video, Start on website to draw people into Highland Springs
Week 3: No Class
Week 4: Edit 30 second Capstone video, Create an idea for a full capstone video
Week 5: Practice Video and Practice Wix Website Due
Week 6: Work on Website (create finalization) and demos in class
Week 7: Present and critique proposals, Finish website and start working on any videos for Captsone
Week 8: No class
Week 9: Work on video that explains the volunteer process and what is expected of a volunteer and any links for website
Week 10: Edit video and find animations or images for webpage
Week 11: Finalize website and any presentation details
Week 12: No Class
Week 13: Yearbook Video
Week 14: Shoot/Edit Video
Week 15: Shoot/Edit Video
Week 16: Turn in/ completely finish

My favorite activity that we did in Photoshop was the animation part. I feel like I learned a lot about making a motion picture with the stamps. It was really fun and I will never forget that skill.
